Welcome, I am glad you stopped by!

I am a mental health practitioner specializing in addiction work as a clinical addictions specialist associate and I also offer spiritual counseling paired with somatic work. I value creating a space where you are able to process the ways that substance use and misuse–whether by you or a loved one–might hinder you from living a flourishing life. Joining you as you journey toward balance and healing is a privilege.

Things I am good at:

  • Listening with empathy

  • Finding and implementing tools to manage stress and achieve goals

  • Breaking unhealthy cycles by examining false narratives

  • Integrating mind, body, and spirit as a means of healing

People I meet with are often seeking to break long term addictions, achieve a healthier lifestyle, or may be seeking help around a complex relationship with someone who is using substances. Others are in sobriety and may be seeking support to increase their own resilience or process past trauma that led to their initial use. Some of my clients seek to use substances in moderation with transparency and the support of an objective person. Others are seeking a sober lifestyle and are caught in the throws of self hatred and repeated lapses. Wherever you may be, I would love to connect to see if we may be a good fit to partner in forging a new path.

As a licensed clinical addiction specialist associate, my specialty allows me to treat substance use disorders along with co-occuring disorders, including depression and anxiety. I work with individuals, couples, and groups from all spiritual, ethnic, racial, cultural, sexual, and gender identities and value operating from an anti-racisit, anti-oppressive framework.

I take a trauma informed and strengths based approach, joining you in uncovering your resilience as you explore the interconnectedness of your mind, body and spirit. By taking an eclectic theoretical approach, I am able to help meet needs specific to each person. I most often draw from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Theory, and the Trauma Resiliency model.

Payment

  • $175 per 70 minute initial intake session

  • $145 per individual session of 50 minutes

  • $160 per couple/family therapy session of 50 minutes

  • Longer sessions are prorated and billed accordingly

Payment is collected during each session via Venmo (@Katelyn-Chapman1), cash (no change available), Health Savings Account, and major credit cards including AMEX.  I do not accept insurance, however, I am considered out of network for many insurance companies who may reimburse you for each session.  Please see below if applicable.  Documentation for out of network reimbursement will be provided upon request.

*There is limited availability to offer services on a sliding scale fee and I am happy to offer openings when available.  Please ask for more information if needed.

Insurance

I am an out of network provider and my services are eligible for reimbursement from health insurance companies not including Medicaid or Medicare. If applicable, please contact your insurance company to ask if they reimburse for out-of-network substance abuse and/or mental health services with the billing code of 90837 (Individual Therapy). Questions to ask your insurance co regarding mental health and SA coverage:

  • Is there a deductible?

  • How many visits per year are covered?

  • Is authorization required?

  • Which services are covered (e.g., couples therapy, group therapy, telehealth, individual, phone sessions)?

You have the right to pay for your services out of pocket without seeking insurance reimbursement in order to avoid having a mental health or substance abuse diagnosis shared with your insurance company. Insurance coverage is never a guarantee as a company may choose to not cover services at any point of treatment for a variety of reasons for both in-network and out-of-network providers.
